The best motorcycle routes in Albania start close to Tirana and quickly turn into mountain passes, sea-view roads, and quiet inland valleys. These are realistic routes for rented adventure motorcycles, with safety notes on fuel, weather, traffic, and road conditions.
The SH8: Vlorë to Sarandë over the Llogara Pass
The classic. Switchbacks climb through pine forest to the Llogara Pass, then the road falls a thousand meters to the Riviera below, and the sea stays with you all the way south. Ride it early morning for empty tarmac. Any of our bikes handles it — this one is about the views, not the terrain.
The southeast loop: Korçë, Ërsekë, Përmet
High plateaus, river gorges, and villages that see few tourists. Great asphalt by Albanian standards and almost no traffic. Two days done properly, with a night in Përmet — ask us to mark the thermal baths at Bënjë on your map.
The north: toward Theth and the Alps
The Theth road is asphalt now, but narrow and spectacular — treat it with respect, especially early in the season. For confident riders on the CRF300L or Voge 300 Rally, the surrounding valleys offer as much gravel as you want.
